Overview
The problem: Traveling apps do not provide, itinerary plans and guides that are customized to different people's personality needs
The solution: is to offer travelers a way where they get personalized recommended guides of different cities, that attunes toward their needs.
Roles & Tools
Role: UX/UI Designer (Individual Project)
Project type: New Travel Startup App
Duration: Two weeks
Tools: Miro, Figma, google docs, invision, and google excel
Research
For Research I created an empathy map based on the user persona about a person who is introverted and likes to be comfortable when traveling but has trouble planning trips and finding activities to do. The Empathy goes into more in-depth about what the person thinks they feel and says, and how they actually feel. I also conducted face to face interviews.

Definition & Ideation
The user flow goes through the process of a user creating an account, login into the app, and h planning a trip, and adding activities for the trips on the app. I created the storyboard to give a scenario and having to find a trip was difficult for Jane and the frustrations she went through, before she found the app Travellingo. Through the storyboard I was able to think of how I wanted the app to be easy to navigate, and not have difficulty finishing their task, and or what they want to accomplish.

Prototyping
I first sketched some pages on paper to get a feel of what I wanted the app to look like , then I moved on to create a low-fi version of the app, and added more pages, and features into the app. For the final version of the app for the styling i went with a overall light purplish colored to give the app a friendly, warm, and welcoming, and calming vibe to user, because i understand that they find frustrations into planning a trips, so i wanted them to feel calm, and happy while engaging with the app.
Paper Prototype

Mid-fi Prototype

Task 1: Create an account for TravelLingo

Task 2: Search up a guide, save and edit it

Testing & Outcomes
I created a usability testing plan, because I wanted to see if users were able to go through the app, and not get confused. I gave the user some tasks and saw if they were able to complete them without much problem. The test takers were able to complete most of the talks with little to no problem. The test participants had a little trouble with the 2nd task, users had trouble on how to save a guide. I took note on that, to iterate later on. After iterating, and adding style to the low-fi version, I had another user test where an individual would treat it like a real app and just go through it. They told me what they like the most about the app, and what they think should be changed.
Task:
-
Create an account for TravelLingo.
-
Search up a guide and save and edit it.
-
Create a trip and add the save guide to it.
-
Add a plan manually to an upcoming trip and sign out of the app.
Conclusion & future opportunities
I have learned that while working in this project when planning an app, the creator should keep the balance of staying within their original thought process, of what they would like the app to be about, and venturing into other aspects they think would be amazing to add to the app at. While working on my paper wireframe, I had kept the scope of what i wanted the app to be about really small, but while working on my wireframe i expanded that scope too much. While it was great to add some new features to the app, I realized the importance of balance and time. Because it was really time consuming, and difficult to create a mockup version of the digital wireframe as I was running out time for my due date for the project.
